  5. is part of the Corel CD Home series.

  8. regarding Corel Arcade Mania that wasn't available when the
  9. jewel case insert was printed.

  39. A. Running Corel Arcade Mania on Microsoft Windows 95

  42. Corel Arcade Mania was released prior to the release of
  43. Microsoft Windows 95. As a result, Corel Arcade Mania has only
  44. been tested with beta versions of Microsoft Windows 95. Although 
  45. Corel anticipates that Corel Arcade Mania will run on the release
  46. version of Microsoft Windows 95, we can't guarantee compatibility
  47. at this time.

  50. B. Installation issues and space requirements
  51. =============================================

  53. For the game to work properly, the Corel Arcade Mania CD should
  54. always be in your CD-ROM drive while playing the game.
  55.

  57.  1. Errors during installation
  58.  -----------------------------
  59.        If you encounter an error during the "MISC. Files" copy portion 
  60.        of the installation you may already have Microsoft Video For 
  61.        Windows on your system.  If these files are already on your 
  62.        system they may be in use during the installation, or have 
  63.        invalid dates or data content. 
  64.  
  65.        If the error refers to the MSACM.DRV file and "MS sources not 
  66.        being set up correctly", exit the Corel Arcade Mania Setup and 
  67.        delete MSACM.DRV from your Windows/System directory.  Reinstall 
  68.        the Corel Arcade Mania program. MSACM.DRV is replaced by the 
  69.        a new version from the Corel Arcade Mania CD-ROM.  If you are 
  70.        unfamiliar with this procedure, please call Corel Technical 
  71.        Support for assistance.

  73.     2. Hard disk space requirements
  74.     -------------------------------
  75.        Corel Arcade Mania requires the following hard drive space:
  76.        
  77.        - At least 3 MB on the drive on which Microsoft Windows is 
  78.          located. This space is used to install Microsoft Win32S and 
  79.          Microsoft WinG.
  80.        - At least 4 MB of temporary space that's used briefly to 
  81.          decompress files during the installation.
  82.        - At least 9 MB on the drive on which you plan to install Corel 
  83.          Arcade Mania.

  87. C. Improving the performance of Corel Arcade Mania
  88. ==================================================
  89. The performance of any CD-ROM application is greatly affected 
  90. by the speed of your computer, the speed of your CD-ROM player, 
  91. and the amount of RAM your system has available. To enjoy 
  92. Corel Arcade Mania at its very best, Corel recommends running it
  93. on a Pentium machine. 
  94.  
  95.    1. Video performance
  96.    --------------------
  97.       If Corel Arcade Mania seems to be running slowly, performance 
  98.       may be improved by setting your video driver to 256 color mode.
  99.       For more information about setting color mode, see the 
  100.       documentation provided by your video card manufacturer.

  104. D. Notes on Individual Games
  105. ============================

  107.    1. Neutrino
  108.    -----------
  109.       If you experience short pauses or delays in the game as you are 
  110.       playing, choose Options from the Game Pause menu, and set Digital 
  111.       Music to OFF. This option change may help prevent this situation 
  112.       from re-occurring.   
  113.  
  114.    2. Lunar Fox
  115.    ------------
  116.       Playing Lunar Fox at a lower resolution may help the performance 
  117.       of this game. Please consult the Corel Arcade Mania documentation 
  118.       for help in changing the resolution using the Game Pause Option
  119.       screen.  If you choose to change screen resolutions while playing 
  120.       the game, the game begins again at the start of level one and all 
  121.       points gained up to this point are lost.

  123.    3. Nova 3
  124.    ---------
  125.       If you experience short delays in the game as you are playing, 
  126.       choose options from the game pause menu, and then set the 
  127.       Digital Music to OFF. This change may prevent any further delays.

  130. E. Troubleshooting
  131. ==================
  132.  
  133. 1. Sound
  134. --------
  135. If you experience any sound problems with Corel Arcade Mania, contact 
  136. the manufacturer of your sound card to make sure you have the 
  137. latest drivers for your sound card. If you still have difficulties
  138. after installing the latest drivers, contact Corel Multimedia Technical 
  139. Support.

  141.    A. MIDI warning message
  142.    -----------------------
  143.       If you experience a Microsoft Windows warning message telling you
  144.       that the default MIDI setup on your system may not be correct, the
  145.       game may still function adequately. If you don't want this MIDI 
  146.       warning displayed in future game sessions, click the warning 
  147.       disable check box in the MIDI warning dialog box that appears. 
  148.    
  149.       NOTE: Clicking the disable warning box has the same effect as 
  150.       adding the following entry to your WIN.INI file:

  152.           [MCISEQ.DRV]
  153.           DISABLEWARNING=TRUE

  155. 2. Video
  156. --------
  157. If you are experiencing any problems with graphics or animations,
  158. in Corel Arcade Mania, contact the manufacturer of your video card 
  159. to make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card. If 
  160. you still have difficulties after installing the latest drivers, 
  161. contact Corel Multimedia Technical Support.

  163.    A. MATROX video cards
  164.    ---------------------
  165.       If you are having problems running Corel Arcade Mania in high
  166.       color and resolution modes, try switching to 256 colors and/or
  167.       640x480 screen resolution. If you still experience problems and 
  168.       are using the WINSWITCH option in your Matrox video driver 
  169.       configuration, try disabling this feature. For further information 
  170.       consult your video card documentation.         
  171.       
  172.       In Windows 95 you may notice that the game background is white
  173.       instead of black. This doesn't affect the game in any way.

  175.    B. Diamond Stealth video cards
  176.    ------------------------------
  177.       If you are having problems running Corel Arcade Mania in
  178.       24 bit color mode, try running the game in a different color mode.
  179.       For further information consult your video card documentation.

  182.    C. ATI MACH 32 and 64 video cards
  183.    ---------------------------------
  184.       In Windows 95 you may notice that in some instances the game 
  185.       background is white instead of black. This doesn't affect the game 
  186.       in any way.

  189.    D. EMail and other warning messages
  190.    -----------------------------------
  191.       If you have warning messages running on your computer such as 
  192.       Network or EMail notification messages, you may experience color
  193.       and/or screen refresh difficulties while playing Corel Arcade 
  194.       Mania.  The game screen may refresh as you continue to play, 
  195.       however Corel recommends that you disable these types of warning 
  196.       messages be during game play.

  198. 3. Windows 95 Issues
  199. --------------------
  200. This game was designed to be installed and played under the Windows 3.1x
  201. operating system. As a result, you may experience minor problems when Corel Arcade Mania is played in the Windows 95 environment.

  203.    A. Lunar Fox and blank screen when exiting
  204.    ------------------------------------------
  205.       When you exit Lunar Fox, it may occasionally appear that the game 
  206.       has stopped responding. In most cases simply pressing the ALT and 
  207.       ESC keys at the same time allows the game to continue.

  209.    B. Background mat color
  210.    -----------------------
  211.       With certain video cards you may notice that the background mat 
  212.       surrounding the game play area may be white instead of black. This 
  213.       doesn't affect game play in any way.
